Fort Bend Scholarship
The Fort Bend Medical Society is dedicated to inspiring and supporting students from Fort Bend County who aspire to become physicians. In line with this commitment, we are pleased to annually offer five scholarships to deserving seniors graduating from high schools in Fort Bend County who demonstrate a strong intention to pursue a career in medicine. FBMS 2025 Scholarship Application Form
- Submission Deadline: Sunday April 13, 2025, 11:59 PM CST
- Ten (10) Semi-Finalist Candidate Interviews (virtual): Saturday May 17, 2025 (Interview Invitations sent by May 7)
- Five (5) Finalists Notified: On or Before May 26, 2025
Candidate Requirements:
- Must be a resident of Fort Bend County or Attend High School in Fort Bend County
- Must be a High school senior graduating in May 2025
- Accepted for Fall 2025 attendance at an accredited U.S. College/University
- Graduating with a GPA of at least 3.0
Additional Information:
The information provided in this application is to be used by the Fort Bend Medical Society Scholarship Committee for the sole purpose of evaluating candidates for scholarships.
The scholarship is intended for those students graduating high school, with immediate plans to matriculate in a U.S. college/university and who plan for a future career as a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO).
The top ten (10) applicants will be chosen based on a review of high school GPA, school ranking, SAT/ACT scores, and essay. These students will interview with the scholarship committee.
The scholarship award is a fixed amount of $2,000 and will be awarded to the top five (5) applicants after the completion of the interview process. Scholarship money will be applied to normal tuition and fees and may be deposited by FBMS into his/her student account at his/her respective college.
The duration of the scholarship is for the scholastic year 2025–2026. The student must be registered as a full-time student (12 hours min/semester) for the year of the award.
Application requirements:
1. The application must be filled out completely and accurately.
2. Submit a copy of your photo ID - driver's license, school ID, passport, etc.
3. Provide an updated Resume or Curriculum Vitae (C.V.)
4. Provide a copy of your acceptance letter from an accredited U.S. college or university
5. Include an “official” copy of transcript and SAT/ACT scores (electronic transcripts accepted)
6. Submit an essay, 1,000 words maximum on a predetermined topic (below)
